Link Building Goal

Hey guys and girls, I am finally starting to get really serious about SEO/search engine optimization. This hub will be primarily about my link building activities and success. I will be trying to increase my # 7 position on the first page of Google to the top 3 for the keyword "tampa seo company" (should be easy)plus increase my #92 position on Google for "tampa seo" to the top 3 as well (much harder).

Link Building Activities

So far I have started with HubPages to begin my link building campaign. I have a few hubs here with the term "tampa seo" and "tampa seo company". I am careful to strategically place these links in my hubs because HubPages doesn't like too many links and I also want my hubs to be readable and not spammy.

In the past couple days I have been reading about nofollow and dofollow comment link posting. So I have began to search for "do" follow blogs that allow you to leave comments with your link in them. This will give me a link back to my site and counts as a favorable vote so Google sees your site as more popular thus increasing page rank.

I have left approximately 10 comments in the past 24 hours on dofollow blogs giving me 10 back links to my site. One key tip I read was to leave your keyword in the name box. The next box will be your email address, then your website URL and finally your comment. Be sure to add value to the conversation or the owner may delete your comment.

I will post a list of dofollow blogs at my website for you guys to see. I will make them linkable so you can link on each one and be taken directly to the site.

Read this post by a fellow hubber motherduck about advanced link building. I am going to follow motherduck's advice right now.

I will be updating this hub with my activities and results so become a fan or subscribe to my RSS feed so you won't miss anything.

I have created the following accounts and written an article or created content for the keyword phrases "tampa seo" and "tampa seo company".

I haven't created anymore accounts or added any more content. My position for "tampa seo company" has increased by only 1 spot. #91 and could be just by chance. All other rankings are still the same. I may add some more accounts and or content tomorrow. I will let you know.

I still have not created any new accounts or content but my position for "tampa seo" has moved to #88. Everything else remains the same.

The only keyword that is moving is "tampa seo". It has moved to #83 in Google and I have not created and new accounts or content. I will probably do some more link building today and add some content to the website. I'll let you know.

Very interesting. As I said before the only keyword to be moving is "tampa seo" which is more competitive than "tampa seo company". I was going to add some content and possibly create some new social bookmarking sites but I didn't have a chance. I also thought that I might want to wait to see how well the more competitive keyword moves up over time without doing anymore liunk building. Well here we are at the end of the owrk day and the keyworrd "tampa seo" has moved to #72 on Google. Nothing has changed for the others. I am tempted to wait a bit longer to see if it continues to increase in rank and start working on another project. I'll keep you posted.

As expected I knew at some point the Google rankings would move back in the other direction. I was afraid to make any changes in content or bookmark any more pages related to the keyword phrase because I wouldn't be able to say emphatically what caused the changes.

I have not done anything to promote the keyword phrase "tampa seo" today so I know that I didn't do anything to negatively affect the Google rankings but they have suffered a loss today. As I mentioned in the earlier UPDATE the Google position for "tampa seo" has moved all the way to #72. Then beofre I could update again it moved to #71. Unfortunaltely it has moved back to #86 and even Yahoo has moved me from #22 to #27. What the heck?

Today I created a new hub about another experiment that involves a domain name that was once listed on the front page of Google and appears to have been banned. This experiment is designed to document the efforts nd results of thrying to get it listed again and on the front page of Google. You can view it here. There was no mention of the keyword "tampa seo". I'm really not sure why the ranking dropped.

The only thing I did today was to create the OnlyWire account and it sent out a few bookmarking reuqests which did not include TampaSEOCompany.com or the keyword phrase "tampa seo" so I think this is just a fluke and we will see even better Google positions tomorrow or the next day.

p.s. By the way, the OnlyWire account I set up today and used for the first time, bookmarked the hub page http://hubpages.com/hub/From-not-being-indexed-in-Google-to-high-page-rank-in. This hubpage did not mention anything about "tampa seo" or the website TampaSEOCompany.com. There was however a link on that page that had the anchor text "tampa seo" and the linked to domain URL www.TampaSEOCompany.com. Seems to complicated to me but we will continue to monitor and update.

When I bookmarked my hub http://hubpages.com/hub/From-not-being-indexed-in-Google-to-high-page-rank-in I used all the above. I have heard that you should be careful when submitting so that you don't come across as a spammer so I will fill you in on my strategies for that as well

No considerable changes over night. I did however use my newly installed OnlyWire.com bookmarking service to bookmark TampaSEOCompany.com to the eleven social bookmarking sites that I set up in the service.

UPDATE 01/11/10

Hey guys. I have moved on to other projects and have left this one alone. One interesting thing to note is that the rankings have remained similar to what you see above. However, I did the Google local listing (maps) and got a number 1 ranking in like a couple days. I completed the local listing 100 %. Of course now Google doesn't list website agencies, seo agencies or marketing agencies any longer. That really bites because I was getting traffic and phone calls. Leave it to Google to screw things up.
